COVID-19 Information

Having a safe and effective COVID-19 vaccine is one way we can protect our community against coronavirus. COVID-19 vaccines help to prevent serious illness and death from COVID-19, and they are free for everyone in Australia.

 

Platinum Health Group is pleased to advise that we are an approved vaccination provider for COVID-19 vaccines. We are happy to help provide COVID-19 immunisation for our local area and wider community.

  • All our Platinum Health Group medical centres will be conducting the roll out of the Phase 1B - COVID-19 vaccine from week 4 (12 April) of the national roll out. 

  • Initially all our medical centres will have limited stock available. 

  • Appointments will be available to be made from Monday 12 April via our online booking system or by contacting your medical centre after this date. 

  • At the time of your initial booking you will also allocated your second vaccine appointment which will be 3 months after your initial appointment. 

  • All appointments will be confirmed via text message the day before your scheduled appointment.

  • Your appointment and vaccine is voluntary and free.

  • Please be aware you are unable to receive your COVID-19 vaccination within 14 days of your FLU vaccination. You may be asked this at the time of your booking. 

  • On the day of your appointment you are required to provide us your medicare card and any concession cards.

  • You are also required to completed the national consent form available on the link below and bring this to your appointment.

   

 

NEW PATIENTS

  • If you do not have a current My Health Record, you will be required to bring a up to date health summary from your regular GP. 

Practice Policy Covid-19

Platinum Health Group is working closely with the Queensland Government Department of Health to help protect our patients, visitors and staff from COVID-19. Our medical centres remains open and fully functional, with the appropriate safeguards in place to ensure your safety.

If you think you may have COVID-19:

 

Contact your medical centre and we will ask the following questions to triage you for an appointment:

  • Have you travelled overseas or interstate in the last month?

  • Have you had direct contact with any unwell person that has travelled overseas or interstate in the last 2 weeks?

  • Are you unwell?

  • Are you experiencing any of the following symptoms: Fever, Cough, Shortness of Breath, Sore Throat?

 

Your doctor may be able to assist you with a Telehealth Appointment either over the phone or via video link.

 

If you have serious symptoms such as difficulty breathing, call 000 for urgent medical help

 

If you have any of the following flu-like symptoms:

  • Fever

  • Cough

  • Sore Throat

  • Shortness of breath

  • Or loss of smell and/or taste

Or if you have had close contact with someone who has been diagnosed with or suspected of having COVID-19 in the 14 days before getting sick, return to your car and phone your medical centre.

If you haven't had a Telehealth appointment before, here's how it works:

- You book an appointment, either online via www.platinumhg.com.au or over the phone
- Your GP will call you at the scheduled time
- You will discuss your symptoms
- Your GP will advise on the treatment and/or medication required, and next steps.
