Our History

Platinum Health Group was originally Wilsonton Medical Centre founded in November 1976. Since that time Platinum Health Group opened the Village Medical Centre at Highfields in 2005 and then opened St Andrews Toowoomba Medical Centre in 2007. Platinum Health Group took over the Pittsworth Hospital Medical Centre in 2009 and then Platinum on North Medical Centre in January 2013.


Platinum Health Group is owned by 10 GPs who work within our medical centres, and is supported by a management team consisting of Practice Managers, Nurse Supervisors, Finance and a Business Manager. Platinum Health Group works in a collegiate and supportive manner, while also providing training and assistance to medical students, student nurses and GP registrars. Significant long-term relationships exist with medical training consortiums and universities including GPTQ, QRME, Griffith University, USQ and University of Queensland. 

Platinum Health Group mission statement is to deliver a patient focused, ethics driven, comprehensive and long term health care for our community. This includes a commitment to training doctors, nursing and staff to anticipate future community needs.
