We encourage you to call your medical centre after 10 AM for results. We do have a recall system but we encourage you to contact your medical centre by phone if you are concerned or have not been contacted about your results.
Test results, once viewed by the Doctors, are available from reception or the nurses. Our team will be able to advise you of normal results or advise if a further appointment has been requested by your GP to discuss your results with you.
RECALLS AND REMINDERS
Platinum Health Group participate in National & State reminder systems, e.g. for pap smears, immunisations and other tests and follow-up as deemed necessary by our Doctors. Please advise your GP if you do not wish to participate in these schemes.
SCRIPTS AND SPECIALIST REFERRALS
Where possible, scripts should be requested during a consultation. It is also possible to make a short Script-only Appointment. Alternatively, you may request a script via phone if you have seen your doctor within the last six months.
Scripts will usually take 24 to 48 hours from the time of the request. A fee is usually charged for phone requested scripts. This will be confirmed at the time of calling.
We do not routinely post, fax or send scripts to pharmacies. A $15 fee is the usual fee, payable at the time of collection.
The back dating of referrals is illegal and subject to a substantial fine for the Doctor who backdates a referral.
It is a Medicare requirement that referrals can only be written during the course of a consultation. Substantial penalties apply for any General Practitioner convicted of writing referrals outside of a consultation. You are able to consult a specialist without a referral, however, you will be unable to claim a full rebate from Medicare.
It is important to note that visiting a specialist will often incur out of pocket charges. Costs associated with visiting specialists vary. We recommend you enquire about out of pocket charges when you make appointments with specialist's rooms.
At Platinum Health Group, we sincerely wish to receive feedback from our patients. Please feel free to talk to your doctor or our practice managers at your medical centre.
